The Cauldron

Try features that are still brewing, and say how they go.

The Cauldron is where Murmur keeps features that work but aren't finished. They may change, or go, before they're done. Each one is off until you turn it on.

Turn something on

Open Settings and choose Cauldron, near the foot of the list. Each experiment has a line on what it does and a switch. It takes effect straight away, without restarting Murmur.

Turning one off takes it back out of the way: its buttons go, and nothing it adds is sent to the agent. Anything it already made stays readable.

Say how it goes

Under each experiment, Send feedback about this opens Send feedback with the experiment named at the start of your message. If you include app details, they list the experiments you have on, so a report says what was switched on.

What's brewing

Provisions (since 24 October). Drag a Markdown or text file from Finder onto the end of a branch on the map, or into the message box, and the agent has it from your next message on. How it works is in The map, under Give the agent a file. Known so far:

  • Only .md, .markdown and .txt files, up to 5 MB.
  • A file can't be refreshed once it's dropped: drop it again for a newer copy.
  • Continue with these and Summarise don't carry provisions into the new conversation yet.
  • Meetings from Granola, and other sources, are planned but not here yet.

Good to know

  • An experiment that's finished leaves the Cauldron and is on for everyone. One that doesn't work out is taken away, and the changelog says so either way.
  • Experiments are the same on every Mac and in every copy of Murmur: there's no separate beta to install.
