Murmur

A note’s life

From a passing thought to done

One sticky note in Murmur, and everywhere it goes, without leaving the branch it’s about.

Right-click the reply and stick a note beside it.
The model doesn’t see it. It’s yours until you hand it over.

Make it a work item

Pick out the notes that are things to do. They stay where they are, and the start page lists them.

Right-click one and make it a work item.
It doesn’t move. A dashed tick in its header says it’s picked out.
And it’s on the start page, under Think, Do and Draw.

Find it again

From the start page or ⌘K, a work item opens at its note, with the conversation around it.

Days later, it’s waiting on the start page.
Or ⌘K finds it, by any of its words.
Either way it opens at the note, the branch around it.

Hand it over

With semantic notes on, dropping a note in the message box makes it in progress, and it stays in the box as a reminder.

Drag it into the message box to hand it to the model.
It turns blue, and a half-filled circle says in progress.
Sent, it stays in the box, dashed: a reminder, not sent again.

Tick it off

Done on the start page is done on the map. One meaning of done, wherever you mark it.

The tick turns green, a line draws through it, and the row folds away.
The note stays. Make it a work item again whenever you need to.

Semantic notes are in Settings → Map, boards and notes, off until you turn them on. Read about notes or take the full tour.
